Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the standards of conduct we expect from all users of the iakoob platform at iakoob.online. This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. By using the Platform, you agree to comply with this policy.

iakoob is a platform for creative writing, storytelling, and literary community. We want to foster an environment where creators can share authentic work and readers can discover stories they love — free from abuse, exploitation, and illegal activity.

1. Prohibited Content

You may not post, upload, create, or distribute any content that:

Constitutes or depicts child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualizes minors in any way. This is an absolute prohibition with zero tolerance. Violations will be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement immediately and without notice.
Infringes any copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right of another party.
Is defamatory, knowingly false, or designed to mislead.
Constitutes hate speech — content that promotes, glorifies, or incites hatred or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
Contains graphic violence presented for shock value with no artistic purpose.
Promotes or facilitates terrorism, mass violence, or violent extremist ideology.
Is obscene under applicable law (distinct from adult content governed by our content rating system).
Violates any applicable local, provincial, national, or international law or regulation.

2. Prohibited Behaviors

You may not use the Platform to:

Spam: Send unsolicited bulk messages, post repetitive low-quality content to gain visibility, or flood comment sections or messaging features.
Impersonation: Impersonate another person, creator, public figure, or entity in a way that is misleading or intended to deceive. Satire and clearly labeled parody are permitted.
Harassment: Repeatedly contact, target, or follow another user against their expressed wishes. Use the Platform to coordinate harassment campaigns against any individual.
Scraping and automated access: Use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or automated tools to access or extract content from the Platform without our prior written consent.
Circumvention: Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the Platform's security measures, access controls, or content moderation systems.
Account abuse: Create multiple accounts to evade a suspension or ban, or to artificially inflate metrics (followers, reads, ratings).
Unauthorized uploads: Upload or publish works you do not have rights to, including uploading entire books, scripts, or other content from third parties without permission.
Phishing and fraud: Use the Platform to deceive users into disclosing credentials, financial information, or personal data.
Malware distribution: Upload or link to files that contain viruses, malware, spyware, or other harmful code.

3. Content Standards

Content on iakoob is subject to the following standards:

All content must be appropriately rated using our content rating system (General, Teen, Mature, Explicit). Mislabeling content to avoid age gates is a violation of this policy.
Explicit adult content is only permitted in designated sections with appropriate age verification and content labels. Such content remains subject to all other rules in this AUP.
Real-person fiction (RPF) involving public figures must be clearly labeled as fiction and may not portray real individuals in sexually explicit scenarios without clear consent indicators.
Content depicting violence must be rated and labeled appropriately. Gratuitous "torture porn" content with no narrative purpose is not permitted.

4. AI-Generated Content

If you publish AI-generated content, you are responsible for ensuring it complies with all provisions of this AUP and our Terms of Service. You may not use AI tools on the Platform to generate content that would otherwise be prohibited. The automated nature of the creation does not alter your responsibility for the output.

5. Consequences of Violations

Violations of this AUP may result in the following actions, at our sole discretion:

Removal of the violating content.
A warning issued to your account.
Temporary suspension of your account.
Permanent termination of your account and all associated content.
Reporting to law enforcement or relevant authorities where required by law or where we determine it is appropriate (e.g., CSAM, credible threats of violence).

We will generally issue a warning before taking punitive action, except in cases of severe violations (CSAM, illegal content, active fraud) where immediate action is required without prior notice.

6. Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was actioned in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@iakoob.online with the subject line "Content Appeal" or "Account Appeal." We will review appeals and respond within a reasonable timeframe. We are not obligated to restore content or accounts found to be in clear violation of this AUP.

7. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content on the Platform that you believe violates this AUP, please report it using the in-platform reporting tools or by contacting us at support@iakoob.online.

To report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or suspected child exploitation, contact us immediately at support@iakoob.online. You may also report directly to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (Cybertip.ca).

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time to address new types of content or conduct, or in response to legal or regulatory changes. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
